Simple But Interesting Ideas For Different Types Of Pizzas

By
Pizza is an incredibly diverse dish and you are only limited by the ingredients you have on hand and your own imagination when it comes to making different types of and varieties of this beloved favorite.
We usually think of red tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and toppings like pepperoni, sausage, or mushrooms when it comes to pizzas but you have your pick of ingredients to use for making this widely popular dish most of us have eaten at one time or another. If you do not have the time to make your own dough, use the store bought variety, although you may have to compromise some of the taste as most cannot compare to the fresh kind you knead yourself.
Although pizzas are typically eaten for lunch and dinner, breakfast pizzas can be a delicious alternative. Use frozen or fresh dough or even dinner rolls as the crust and load your pizza with sausage, cheese, and shredded hash browns for something really different for breakfast. Vary the type of cheese you use and try using ham or bacon along with or instead of sausage.
Sausage can also be used for a Mexican inspired pizza that is full of spices and hot ingredients such as chipotle and jalapeno peppers. You can also use salsa on top of pizzas instead of tomato sauce along with the toppings of your choice and shredded cheeses.
Pizza does not always have to be loaded with fatty meats or high calorie toppings as you can also use low fat or fat free cheeses as well as a variety of vegetables for a filling meal.
For a different but still Italian inspired pizza use seasonings such as basil and oregano along with an alfredo sauce instead of the usual tomato sauce. Top your pizza with shredded chicken, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and plenty of mozzarella cheese.
